Southside Opens Season with Sweep of Washington Montessori
CHOCOWINITY — The Southside Seahawks started the 2026 volleyball season strong Monday afternoon, sweeping Washington Montessori 3-0 in a non-conference match at home.
Southside took the sets 25-21, 25-13 and 25-25, improving to 1-0 while the Eagles fell to 0-1.
Outside hitter Madilynn Moore led the way for the Seahawks with 10 kills and a .538 hitting percentage. Dora Davila-Martinez added a perfect 1.000 hitting percentage on her attempts.
As a team, Southside finished with 23 kills, 17 service aces, 21 digs and 18 assists.
The Seahawks controlled the match after a competitive first set, pulling away in the second and third frames to secure the clean sweep.
