Jones Senior Edges North East Carolina Prep in High-Scoring Affair

TRENTON — The Jones Senior Trojans opened their home schedule with a high-scoring 7-5 victory over North East Carolina Prep on Wednesday night.

Jones Senior jumped out to a 4-2 lead at halftime and held off a second-half push from the Huskies to improve to 2-0. North East Carolina Prep fell to 0-1 in the non-conference matchup.

Kevin Sanchez led the Trojans with a hat trick, while Joseph Sanchez added two goals and two assists. The Sanchez duo combined for five of Jones Senior’s seven goals.

Goalkeeper Jesstin Crump made three saves in the win.

Both teams combined for 12 goals in an open, attacking contest. Jones Senior scored three times in the second half to match North East Carolina Prep’s output after the break.

The Trojans will look to stay unbeaten in their next match, while the Huskies search for their first win of the season.
