Jones Senior Soccer Opens Season with 5-1 Win Over Tarboro

TRENTON, N.C. — The Jones Senior Trojans boys soccer team opened the 2026 season in strong fashion Monday night, defeating the Tarboro Vikings 5-1 in a non-conference match at home.

Jones Senior jumped out to a 2-1 halftime lead and pulled away with three second-half goals to secure the victory. The Trojans improved to 2-0 overall, while Tarboro dropped to 0-1.

Junior midfielder/striker Joseph Sanchez led the attack with a hat trick, scoring three goals and adding an assist for seven points. Freshman Jamie Deleon contributed two assists. Goalkeeper Jesstin Crump recorded four saves in the win.

Jones Senior outscored Tarboro 2-1 in the first half and 3-0 in the second. The Trojans finished with five goals and four assists as a team.
