West Craven earns first win of the season, sweeping East Carteret 3-0

VANCEBORO — West Craven volleyball picked up its first victory of the 2026 season Thursday night, sweeping East Carteret 3-0 in a non-conference match at home.

The Eagles won 25-21, 26-24, 25-15. Sophia Sutton led West Craven with 9 kills. Carlee Stilley added 6 kills and 4 total blocks. The Eagles finished with 22 kills, 8 aces, 5 blocks, 19 assists and a decisive 65 digs.

West Craven’s edge came on the floor and at the service line. The Eagles more than doubled East Carteret in digs and held a 8-5 advantage in aces.
